Founded in 2011, D.R. Steel Inc. was created to meet the demand for full service steel installation professionals. Working in the steel fabrication industry for many years Rob found that there was a need for a field installation crew to deal with repairs, retrofits, and changes. The company expanded quickly, taking on projects of all sizes, from single day retrofits to erecting complete buildings in excess of 200,000 square feet. D.R. Steel Inc. is located in Edmonton, Alberta.
Starting with only 3 employees, D.R. Steel Inc. began building a reputation for handling all the details and providing quality workmanship. As the company expanded, D.R. Steel Inc. further demonstrated excellent safety principals and cooperation within the project teams. D.R. Steel Inc, has grown to have about 15 to 20 employees while maintaining the founding principles of professionalism, quality and problem solving.
Rob Laidlaw is a Civil Engineering Technologist with 20 years of experience in the steel construction industry and contributes a hands-on approach to managing projects.
Steve Oesch is the newest member of the D.R. Steel Inc. ownership team. He is one of the original three employees and became a shareholder in 2015. Steve has over 10 years of experience in steel erection and welding. His ability to identify potential problems before they occur and provide solutions is a key asset.
